Chicken Fajitas are one of my favorite dishes. It’s hard to find a restaurant that makes these correctly so I have taken it upon myself to figure out the perfect combo of spices for chicken fajitas. I have tried many different spice combinations and found that using a combination of salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder and paprika gives you the perfect flavor in your fajitas. The most important thing is to give your chicken enough time to soak up the flavors of the seasonings.

I like to use boneless skinless chicken breast because it cooks faster and tastes better than bone in chicken. If you are using bone in chicken then you will want to cook it longer so that the meat is not dry when you eat it. You can also use boneless skinless thighs or even drumsticks as long as they are cooked through before serving.

The spices and seasonings that we put on our chicken and peppers tend to be slightly different depending upon who is cooking them in our family, but there are a few basics that most everyone agrees on. We thought it would be fun to share with you some of the top ingredients that are used by some very talented cooks!

First, lets discuss chicken breasts. There are two schools of thought on how to prepare them:

1) Chicken breasts can be boiled, sauteed with olive oil, or baked in the oven. Boiling them is typically the easiest option if you are looking for something simple and quick. To boil your chicken, place it in a pot with water (enough to cover the chicken), and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, turn the heat down and simmer until cooked through (about 15-20 minutes). Sauteing your chicken also works well – just heat up some olive oil in a skillet over medium/high heat and cook until done (about 5-7 minutes per
