Fajita Seasoning Recipe:

1/4 cup chili powder

2 tsp paprika

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp cumin

1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (add more if you like spicy food)

Add all ingredients together in a bowl, stir until well mixed. Store in an airtight container. (I recommend grinding your own spices just because it’s fresher!) The homemade fajita seasoning will stay fresh for about 6 months at room temperature or 3 months in the refrigerator. Make sure to label the container with the date if storing longer than 3 months.

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and blend thoroughly. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate. To use as a marinade or seasoning for fajitas, add 1 tablespoon to 1-1/2 pounds of meat. For an interesting flavor addition, add to sauces for Mexican dishes such as burritos or tacos. Enjoy!

New Fajita Seasoning Recipe blog post: How do you make fajitas

I’ve always loved fajitas. I used to make them at home, but it was a lot of work. There were so many different ingredients that had to be chopped, diced, and measured out before I could start cooking. It would take me hours to make fajitas for my friends and family.

But one day, I went to a restaurant and my order of fajitas came with a packet of seasoning on the side. My first thought was, “That’s not right,” but I was so hungry that I just started eating my fajita without the seasoning. It was awful! The meat tasted bland and there wasn’t any flavor in the peppers or onions either.

I went home and tried making my own fajitas with the packet of seasoning from the restaurant and they were delicious! I still use this same recipe for fajita seasoning today. If you like Mexican food, then you will love this simple homemade fajita seasoning recipe.*
