Cajun-Style Snack Mix

Ingredients:

2 cups oyster crackers

2 cups cheese crackers

2 cups cheese curls

1 cup wheat squares cereal

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients except butter. Stir in melted butter. Spread in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake at 250 degrees F for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool, then store in airtight container.

Ingredients

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tsp ground cumin

2 tsp dried mixed herbs

1 tsp chilli powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

salt and pepper, to taste

Method

1. In a bowl or jar, combine the oil with the cumin, herbs, chilli powder, cayenne and seasoning. Mix well. Use immediately or store in a sealed container for up to 1 week.

In a small mixing bowl, combine salt and next 6 ingredients. Store in an airtight container; use within 3 months. Yield: about 1/2 cup.
