Taco seasoning is essentially flavoring for meats, like beef or chicken, that will be eaten in tacos. On its own it’s not really good for much else, but with just a few easy steps you can make something great that you can use over and over again.

Taco seasonings come in packets and while they are convenient they also tend to be rather high in sodium and low in flavor. That’s why so many people prefer to make their own taco seasoning mix instead. It’s quick, it’s easy and you know exactly what’s going into it.

Taco seasoning can be made with dried chili peppers or spicy peppers like jalapeno or serrano, but it doesn’t always need the heat that peppers provide. Some recipes call for paprika, cumin, coriander and even oregano along with salt and pepper. The exact combination will depend on

Taco seasoning is a pretty simple thing to make, but it’s frustrating for people who are used to just dumping packets in with ground beef and calling it a meal. It’s not as simple as just dumping some seasoning into the pan. You have to brown the meat first, then add the seasoning and stir, then simmer for 30 minutes before adding any liquid.

Taco seasoning is one of those things that has been around forever and is still being perfected today. It’s also one of those things that you can easily buy ready-made at the grocery store. But there are many reasons why making your own taco seasoning makes sense. First, if you’re going to be eating tacos on a regular basis, which most people do, why wouldn’t you want to control exactly what goes into your tacos?

Second, when you buy ground beef pre-seasoned at the store, you will often find that it contains more salt than you actually want or need. This is especially true if you buy pre-seasoned ground beef in bulk packages at warehouse clubs like Costco or Sam’s Club.

Third, making your own taco seasoning is quite easy and doesn’t take long at all, even if you don’t go for the quickie version I’ll show you below!

Taco seasoning is one of those things that you always wonder if it’s better to make your own. I’ve tried a few recipes but none of them were quite perfect, they all seemed to lack that perfect bite. So I got to thinking about it and decided to make my own fajita seasoning mix.

This is what I came up with and we’ve been using it ever since! It’s almost like making our own taco seasoning mix but even better (in my opinion). It has the right amount of kick and compliments any meat or beans you put in your tacos. We like to use it for anything we cook on the grill, especially grilled chicken or beef.

Taco seasoning can be made in large batches and stored in an airtight container for several months. All the spices used are usually found in the spice rack so this recipe will cost you almost nothing!

I love fajitas and tacos. I always seem to get Mexican food cravings, which is funny because I lived in California for a long time and thought I had tried everything.

I was wrong.

Fajitas are amazing, but it’s hard to find great ones when you’re not in Texas or California. Making them at home can be pretty intimidating too. Sure, they’re just grilled meat, onions and peppers with some seasoning, but there’s lots of ways to do them wrong! The ingredients have to be fresh and the meat needs to be marinated just right so that it’s flavorful without being tough.

Tacos are even more intimidating because of the shell factor. Flour tortillas don’t seem quite “authentic” for some reason.

But you’ll never have to worry about that again once you learn how easy it is to make fresh corn tortillas from scratch! You can make your own taco seasoning from scratch too!

There are a few common mistakes made in homemade fajita seasoning but I’m here to tell you what really works and what doesn’t. And I’ll even share my family’s secret ingredient (it isn’t hot sauce!) that gives our fajita seasoning its special kick of flavor!
